Most towns have looms for tailoring use, although I found it very hard to find some of them, so you have several choices.
You can go to a well known loom, such as the one in the first level of the Bazaar, the downside being that you have to travel back and forth to get all your items for combine.
You can get a small or large sewing kit, which is great because it doubles up as a storage bag that can be carried or stored in the bank, but when you get high enough to do Wu's armour, there are not enough slots in these to make a lot of the combines.
The other choice, although not easy to get, is the Deluxe sewing kit. These can be won (on rare occasions) at the Shadow Haven Casino, or if you keep checking, you can pick them up off one of the merchants nearby the casino (a much cheaper option than trying to win one). The deluxe kit has 10 slots so will do all the larger combines and can be stored in shared bank slot allowing 10 items to be shared in that one slot.
Hope this all helps someone

Oh and I should add, the sewing kits are easier to use than the loom because you can sit in the banks so you just have to jump up every now and then to get more items for combine, without having to travel far (some items stack but can get very heavy and for dark elf like me, that means i cant waddle very far!!)

Also if you have the pp to afford it, a Geerlok Tailoring device will add 5% to your combines working and also helps skill up faster.
